So it has been quite a while since anything has been done around here. Updates to the server and stuff like that will probably never happen at this point as I do not have the time nor the desire to be bothered with it all. There is also a possibility that things may be changing or just going away here in the near future.
The company that is hosting most of the AvaMods related stuff has decided to tell me that in 30 days they will only allow sites to use the latest php version and all previous versions will no longer be available to use. This will completely break most of the AvaMods related sites (in addition to a few other things I am hosting on this server). Updating the sites to work with the latest php is not a realistic option. I would have to go through 10's of 1000's of lines of php code and make an unfathomable amount of changes, most of which I do not know how to even do anymore as I am not up to speed on the major changes that have happened to php in recent years.
So there is only a few options that I see to deal with this. None of which will be quick and/or easy to do in anyway at all. And I certainly do not have the time to do any of it. So while I do plan on doing a full backup of all the webserver stuff (about 65GB), I do not see myself being able to realistically do anything about all this. So right now it seems that the AvaMods website and everything will quite likely no longer be available after August 30th.
I *may* make the bare minimum effort and get the sites up and running past that date, but if that happens it is likely that all of the downloads and larger collections of files will no longer be online.
We'll see what happens over the next month. I really would like to keep this stuff all up and working (for some unknown reason), but I'm not too sure it is worth the amount of effort that it would take to do so.. I guess we'll find out soon enough...
